Saint Petersburg, Florida, November 1, 2024 (WFLA)

A deadly shooting at a St. Petersburg construction site on Friday afternoon was self-defense, according to the St. Petersburg Police Department.

The St. Petersburg Police Department said at 1:30 p.m., officers were called to a house under construction at 1400 Farragut Drive N.

Police said there was a disagreement between a general contractor and a sub-contractor tile worker. The tile worker began to smash completed tile work when the general contractor, identified as Mostafa Ah Abdo, went and got a gun out of his truck.

Abdo threatened the tile worker when the tile worker’s father pulled out his gun and shot Abdo, according to police.

Abdo died from his injuries.

Police said the shooting was “justifiable self-defense” and no one was arrested.

According to the department’s news release, “Investigators determined that Robinson and the victim were associates on Metze Road. It was found that during a brief conversation between the two, Robinson fired multiple shots, hitting the victim. The victim then returned fire in self-defense,” it reads…

Robinson is facing charges of attempted murder, possession of a weapon during a violent crime, and a felon in possession of weapon.

Hialeah, Florida, November 2, 2024 (WSVN)

Hialeah Police units responded to the scene of the shooting in the area of West Second Avenue and 29th Street, at around 1:30 a.m. on Saturday.

Investigators 36-year-old Michel Lope Montes de Oca had contacted a mobile tire repair service to fix his vehicle.

Detectives said the mobile mechanic, identified as 29-year-old Brandon Hurst, responded to the location and began working on Montes de Oca’s vehicle.

At some point, a confrontation took place between both men. Police said Montes de Oca became upset after he realized the tire that Hurst had installed was a used one.

Detectives said Montes de Oca threatened Hurst, then charged at him with a machete in hand. In fear for his life, the mechanic took out his gun and opened fire, striking the irate customer multiple times.

Police took Hurst into custody but later deemed the incident a “justified shooting in self-defense.”

Police responded to Demetris Restaurant on Covington Highway around 6:30 a.m. Officers immediately discovered a 54-year-old man, shot in the torso.

That man told police he was sitting inside the diner when he spotted three men trying to break into his wife’s Orange Corvette in the parking lot.

The man and ‘several other employees’ confronted the would-be burglars, which led to a gunfight, according to police. The gunfight resulted in the 54-year-old being shot.

His injuries were not life-threatening, according to police…

One person is dead after a shooting at a gas station over the weekend in Alabaster.

Authorities identified the victim as 45-year-old Ricardo Pastrana Perez, of Columbiana.

The Alabaster Police Department says they responded to a call in the 1000 block of 1st Street South on Saturday, Nov. 2…

Few details have been released surrounding the fatal shooting, but Det. Andrew Rowan said Perez did not work at the store and was not a customer at the time of the homicide…

Chief Curtis Rigney said in Monday’s press release that a review of physical evidence, witness statements and video evidence indicates the fatal shooting was in self-defense…

According to Jordi Valdez, who told WRAL News he shot the man, he was trying to scare off the man with a warning shot. Alvarez said he never intended to hit the man…

According to Valdez, a customer asked him for help after claiming the man was trying to get into people’s vehicles. Valdez told the man to leave and the man confronted him with pepper spray.

The man tried reaching for Valdez’s gun, which led to the shooting…

Deputies told WRAL News they questioned Valdez but he is not in custody, adding that their investigation is ongoing…

According to an arrest report from the Miami Police Department, the victim and her two friends drove to the 1500 block of Northwest Fourth Avenue on the morning of Nov. 3 to meet with a man named “Glitt,” who “gave them money to spend on a liquor bottle.”

Police said afterward, Wimberly, known to the victim as “Tigg,” went up to the front passenger’s side of the Kia K5, where she was sitting, and tapped on the window.

She rolled down the window and Wimberly said, “Now, what’s up?” before pulling out a gun from his waistband and hitting the victim in the head with it, the report states.

Authorities said a brief argument ensued and the three drove off to Miami Gardens, but decided to go back to the scene to report what happened to police.

Police said two women drove up behind their car and then Wimberly drove up in a separate car with another woman. The two got out of the car and Wimberly then demanded that the victim fight the woman, who he called his “baby momma,” the report states.

Wimberly took out his gun and began shooting, police said, leading the woman to take cover and then find her own gun. She fired back, they said, hitting Wimberly in the abdomen, leading him to undergo emergency surgery at Jackson Memorial Hospital…

Officers responded to the area of East Furnace Branch and Margate Drive around 8:30 p.m. for a reported shooting. Once on the scene, they found a man lying in the road with gunshot wounds…

A preliminary investigation revealed that the 22-year-old was driving a motorcycle around Route 1 and Furnace Branch Road when he noticed a vehicle tailgating him and driving erratically, according to officers. 

The driver of the vehicle pulled alongside the motorcyclist and shouted at him, officers said. The other vehicle then nearly collided with the motorcyclist, causing him to pull off of the road. 

Officers said both the vehicle and motorcycle stopped on East Furnace Branch Road, where the driver of the vehicle allegedly charged toward the motorcyclist while holding a hammer. 

The 22-year-old then took out a handgun and shot the driver, identified as Gushe, officers said. 

According to officers, the 22-year-old had a concealed carry permit valid in Maryland…

The investigation into this shooting is ongoing. No charges have been filed…

The incident occurred outside the store in the 1000 block of East County Line Road on Monday, November 11.

Detective Tommie Brown said a man met Chanceler Holmes, 24, and Shaneque McAbee, 33, at the location to sell an item he had posted on Facebook Marketplace. Holmes allegedly tried to rob the seller, which led to both men firing shots…

Brown said the investigation led to the arrest of McAbee. She was charged with accessory to robbery and received a $175,000 bond during her court appearance on Tuesday.

According to Brown, bench warrants have been issued for the arrest of Holmes, who is still hospitalized. He will be charged with armed robbery, aggravated assault and shooting into an occupied vehicle.

According to police, the incident happened in the area of the 5500 block of Baltimore Avenue.

Police say two armed men – one carrying a rifle and the other a possible handgun – approached the driver of the armored Brinks truck as he was walking back to his vehicle.  It was all playing out on the back side of the building in a parking lot.

As the suspects approached the truck, the Brinks truck worker fired several shots at them. It’s not clear if either suspect was hit or if the suspects fired back…

Deputies responded to reports of a shooting at approximately 6:45 a.m. near Highway 20 SE and Kay Terrace. Upon arrival, officers found a 30-year-old woman and three children at the scene. The man involved, identified as Mr. Elmore, was not present.

Investigators indicate the woman and Elmore got into an argument while driving together out of Rockdale County. Authorities say it turned physical when Elmore exited the vehicle and allegedly attacked the woman. During the struggle, the woman reportedly retrieved a firearm and shot Elmore.

Elmore fled the scene in the vehicle, leaving the woman and children roadside, deputies said. Rockdale County deputies were able to track Elmore to his mother’s residence in Ellenwood, where he was arrested. He was then transported to Grady Memorial Hospital for treatment and remains in custody of the Rockdale County Sheriff’s Office…

Lt. Matt Lennick said in a press release the shooting in the parking lot of the Reno Club off Calhoun Lane started with a verbal argument.

During the argument, a 46-year-old man “pulled a firearm and began shooting at a 38-year-old male and a 42-year-old female striking them both,” the press release states.

The injured woman pulled a firearm and “attempted to return fire,” the press release states, when a 25-year-old man described as a “bystander” who was not initially involved in the argument “pulled a firearm and fatally shot the 46-year-old male.”…

The shooter will likely not face any charges, but that decision will ultimately be made by the county prosecutor.

Cedric Hughley, 35, was pronounced dead at the RoadDog gas station at 119 N. James H. McGee Blvd., according to Montgomery County Coroner Dr. Kent Harshbarger.

The shooting was reported shortly after 2 a.m. on Thursday.

A man was getting gas when he let another man, later identified as Hughley, inside his car to get out of the rain, Dayton police Maj. Brian Johns said.

“At one time the individual asked for a ride but didn’t have any gas money,” he said. “At that time a disagreement began inside the vehicle. The person loitering in the parking lot began to assault the driver of the vehicle.”

The driver of the vehicle reportedly pulled out a gun and fired three rounds, killing Hughley. He then went inside the gas station and asked the clerk to call the police.

Hughley was not armed.

Johns said last week the man was cooperating with police and no arrests had been made…

Around 4:30 this afternoon, UPD went to the intersection of Busey Ave. and Park St. for a shooting with injuries.

Police said they were made aware the shooting stemmed from a road rage incident that happened near Five Points and continued through Busey Avenue and Park St. A female driver and a male passenger engaged in a verbal fight with another man driving by himself. The female driver followed the car into Carle Hospital’s emergency department parking lot, then pulled onto Park St. to create space between himself and the other vehicle.

The female driver and the male passenger exited their vehicle near Park St. The woman allegedly was armed with a baseball bat. The man walked toward the other male driver with his hand under his shirt. The solo driver believed he was armed with a gun. The driver, a concealed carry permit holder, then drew out their legally concealed gun and fired several shots, hitting the male passenger. The driver called 911…

At this time, no one has been arrested.

On Monday, the Gastonia Police Department said the shooting was part of a road rage incident. Investigators believe people “in two different cars began shooting at each other.”

The police department identified two shooters, but only one of them is being charged. Makiah Dakota Lippencott was charged with assault with a deadly weapon and firing into an occupied property. The other shooter wasn’t charged, citing self-defense, according to GPD…

The victim, who wanted to be identified as Makayla, told Lemon that her boyfriend was driving along East Franklin Boulevard when a car got in front of them, another got behind them, and the two cars forced them to stop. The victim said a man yelled that they cut off his wife. She sensed things were going bad so she started recording from her phone…

The video shows glass shattering as shots were fired at Makalya.

She says two men in the other car fired at them, and her boyfriend fired back…

Police determined her boyfriend fired in self-defense.

Miami-Dade Police said the incident happened Monday afternoon at Tire Liquidators at 2090 Southwest 67th Avenue when the two brothers entered the shop and started arguing with a mechanic about work that was previously done on Rodriguez’s vehicle…

According to an arrest report, the two brothers followed the mechanic into the store’s office and Rodriguez started punching him multiple times.

The mechanic pulled a gun from his waistband and held it in the air as Rodriguez-Candano lunged at him and started to push him, the report said.

Rodriguez and Rodriguez-Candano jumped on the mechanic and started punching him before the mechanic fired three times.

One of the bullets hit Rodriguez in the leg. Rodriguez was able to grab the mechanic’s gun and hit him on the top of the head with it, before the mechanic was able to run out of the office.

But once the mechanic was outside, Rodriguez-Candano continued to punch him before he took the gun from his brother and pointed it at the mechanic, the report said.

The mechanic had a laceration on the top of his head and bruising on his arms and was treated at the scene.

“He acted fairly in his defense,” de la Paz said.

Rodriguez was taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center in stable condition before he and his brother were arrested and booked into jail…

The owner confronted them, which led to one of them striking him with a can, the release said. They left the store, and the owner followed them out. The incident escalated when the owner and men exchanged gunshots. The owner was struck, and the men ran off, the release said…

Chicago police said the vendor, a 35-year-old man, was approached by another man, and then a brief struggle ensued. The man and the vendor, who is a concealed carry license holder, both pulled out a firearm and exchanged gunfire…

Family members of the vendor said he’s been serving the community for nearly 10 years and that he acted in self-defense…

Authorities said a middle-aged man identified as John Doe was shot in the head. Police told CBS News Philadelphia that a man using the ATM left his car running, and another man jumped in to attempt to steal it.

The owner of the car, a licensed gun owner, shot into the car one time, hitting John Doe, according to police…

MNPD said detectives reviewed surveillance video from the car wash and observed 41-year-old Ladon Ervin exit his Jeep Grand Cherokee and confront another man. The video reportedly captured Ervin punch the man, pull out a handgun and fired at the ground toward the man’s feet.

According to police, that’s when the other man is then seen pulling out a handgun, resulting in both him and Ervin firing shots at each other. Detectives said they are still working to identify the second gunman…

Police reported Ervin was released from the hospital on Tuesday, Nov. 26. He was charged with aggravated assault, reckless endangerment, and felon in possession of a weapon. Records show the 41-year-old is being held in Metro Jail on a $190,000 bond…

According to Sgt. Amar Gandhi with the sheriff’s office, it happened around 2 a.m. Sunday along the 10000 block of Folsom Boulevard in Rancho Cordova.

Gandhi said a burglar made their way into the building while the supervisor was in the back in a living space. As the alleged burglar approached the living space, the property supervisor shot him…

He said he fired after the burglar kicked open the door…

The alleged burglar made his way to the parking lot, collapsed and died…

No arrests have been made at this time. The shooting is under investigation.

According to reports, MPD responded to 6260 Winchester Road just after 2 a.m. An employee told officers that she was in her office in the back of the business when she heard glass breaking from the front of the store.

The woman said she immediately closed and locked the office door, and moments later, she heard the suspect walking near it.

She then grabbed her Glock and fired one shot through the office door, police say…

Police say the suspect heard the shot, got off the counter, and jumped back through the drive-through window, fleeing the scene…

Woodland Park police responded to the 700 block of Gold Hill Place South at about 5:30 p.m. Friday after receiving a 911 call.

Witnesses told investigators that 28-year-old Luis Morales, the biological father of the child, threatened the mother’s boyfriend after a physical altercation between the two in the store’s parking lot. The boyfriend pulled a gun and fired a single shot, striking Morales, according to the CBI…

The 29-year-old boyfriend stayed at the scene and has cooperated with officials, according to the CBI, which is leading the investigation. He has been released pending the outcome of the investigation.
