Officials said a male suspect approached another man and pulled out a gun, requesting the victim remove his clothes, to which he complied. When the suspect became distracted, the victim reportedly pulled a gun out of his pants and shot the suspect twice…

Officers say they responded to the shooting around 2 a.m. at a Circle K.

According to officers, a store clerk shot an individual during an active assault.

Elgin Police Department officers say the individual sustained a minor injury.

After investigating, the incident was determined to be self defense.

According to New Haven police, city resident John Reynolds, 56, was shot and killed at the Bella Vista housing complex on Eastern Street. It is unclear if he was a resident of the high rise building.

Police said they went to the housing complex at 5:29 p.m. Friday after multiple 911 calls reported a man carrying a machete, later identified as Reynolds, who was on one of the upper floors “banging on apartment doors and rambling.”

The callers allegedly reported to police that Reynolds had a history of mental health problems and was possibly under the influence…

Investigators learned that a resident of the floor shot Reynolds after an altercation between the two, according to police…

Police said they have not arrested the individual who shot Reynolds and that the investigation is ongoing…

An argument turned violent in east Columbus Saturday morning when a man allegedly attempted to use his vehicle as a weapon and was shot.

Columbus police said Alexander Oglesby, 32, was arrested Saturday after he allegedly attempted to strike three victims with his vehicle during an argument. Although Oglesby is now being held in jail, he was first taken to a nearby hospital after police said one of the victims fired shots at Oglesby, which officers said was in self defense.

Oglesby is charged with three counts of felonious assault, and police said tire tracks at the scene show Oglesby drove at the victims, who were in the grass outside of their residence. The incident took place at the 2000 block of Woodsedge Road in Walnut Creek.

The shooting was reported at around 2:10 a.m. outside Walgreens, 522 Torrence Ave., in Calumet City. According to authorities, a 42-year-old man and a 48-year-old woman were approached by employees after exiting the store without paying for merchandise they had taken.

Employees took the merchandise from the woman, who fled the scene on foot. The man, however, displayed a handgun when he was approached, police said. In return, a Walgreen’s employee, who possessed a valid concealed carry license, opened fire, striking the suspect, according to authorities…

A man who allegedly fatally shot another driver at a busy intersection in Glendale on Monday told police he did because he feared for his life.

Glendale Police responded to the shooting call around 8 a.m. at 67th Avenue and Camelback Road…

Police believe two trucks were going east on Camelback Road when one truck driver cut the other off, leading to a confrontation.

Police said a 23-year-old man was driving a tan truck. That driver was slowing down and agitating Saldano Lopez, who was driving a larger silver truck pulling a trailer.

According to police, once at the intersection stoplight, Saldano Lopez got out and went to the tan truck, where an argument ensued at the driver’s side window.

The argument became physical, which is when the driver of the tan truck pulled out a gun and fired a single shot at Saldano Lopez.

The driver of the tan truck stayed at the scene and has not been arrested. Police say he remained cooperative throughout the investigation and believed his life was in danger when he fired the gun…

Police have identified the man who was attacked and shot his assailant on the evening of Oct. 9 near the Douglass Center.

Riley County police said 26-year-old Corandus Sims Jr. shot in self-defense and was not injured following an incident near the Douglass Center.

A robbery suspect was fatally shot during an exchange of gunfire in a business parking lot on Westpark Drive early Thursday morning. The case will be referred to a Harris County grand jury, according to the Houston Police Department.

The shooting occurred in the nighttime hours of Oct. 10, when police in Sioux Falls were dispatched to the 41st Street and Sertoma Avenue Kum & Go for a report of a shooting with multiple injuries…

According to court documents, Martinez told police that Alvarez III returned home to the 600 block of North Daisy Avenue and reported that he had been assaulted. An unidentified witness told Martinez they had witnessed the assault, and claimed the suspects were located at Kum & Go.

That’s when Alvarez III, Alvarez Jr. and a 14-year-old boy hopped into a car and headed to the gas station, with Martinez following in a different vehicle. Alvarez III and Alvarez Jr., armed with baseball bats, approached a group of motorcyclists, investigators say, and after some conversation, Alvarez III began swinging.

The motorcyclist responded by opening fire with a concealed handgun, according to authorities. After shooting Alvarez III, the motorcyclist fired on Alvarez Jr. Martinez attempted to return fire, but the gun jammed, court documents say, leading her to be struck by gunfire as well…

The morning after the shooting, Clemens confirmed that the altercation was a case of “mistaken identity,” and that it began because the shooting victims believed the motorcyclist was responsible for the initial assault on Alvarez III…

While the motorcyclist was not charged, Martinez was charged with three counts of aggravated assault. She was released from jail on a $50,000 bond, according to court records…

On October 15, an officer responded to a call on Highway 438 in Franklinton regarding gunshots fired and a possible shooting victim. Upon arrival, the officer observed three individuals at the front of a mechanics shop, one of them laying down in front of a truck and visibly bleeding. The officer secured the on-site weapons and questioned those present, and was informed that during an altercation, Holmes had fired at three individuals sitting in two vehicles before being shot in self-defense.

The victims reported that after an altercation, Holmes drove to the scene of the crime, exited his vehicle, and began firing his weapon. The victim returned fire, and Holmes was struck in the abdomen and shoulder. The victim then dialed 911 to seek medical help for Holmes, and he was transported to the hospital after officers arrived on the scene. After the initial investigation concluded that Holmes was the aggressor in the situation, a warrant was issued for his arrest, and he was apprehended on November 1, 2024. He is being held on $200,000 bail.

A 23-year-old woman is dead after being shot outside a hotel on Indy’s west side. The shooting appears to have stemmed from a domestic disturbance.

Following the shooting, the man who pulled the trigger turned himself in and gave his side of the story, after which he was released without being arrested.

It all started around 9 p.m. Wednesday, that’s when police were called to the Red Roof Inn along South Lynhurst Drive and found 23-year-old Chasidy Hahn shot dead on scene…

Surveillance cameras outside the hotel allegedly showed an argument between two men known to the victim, during which the woman appeared to pull out a gun and one of the men responded by firing in her direction.

That shooter initially left the scene, but later surrendered and was released pending further investigation by the prosecutor’s office…

Court documents said that an employee at the Beechcroft News Stand on East Dublin Granville Road witnessed 20-year-old Eli Pennington take an item from a cooler and place it in his pocket.

When the employee confronted Pennington, he allegedly drew a silver handgun and pointed it at the employee.

The employee then called for his brother, who responded by pulling out his own gun and shooting Pennington, injuring him…

According to police, the shooting occurred at 6 p.m. Monday night at the Chevron gas station located on East Marginal Way.

SPD said the Chevron clerk was on a break, sitting in his car, when he saw a man and woman doing drugs in the parking lot and told them to leave. That’s when an argument escalated, and police said the 35-year-old man threw a rock at the clerk’s window, shattering it.

“Ultimately his window was severely damaged and he didn’t know what occurred,” Detective Eric Munoz told KIRO Newsradio. “The suspect threw a rock and told the clerk, ‘I will shoot you, too.’”

Munoz said the man approached the clerk’s car and the clerk grabbed his own gun.

“At this point in time, the clerk believed the subject made furtive motion toward his waistband and he lunged at the employee,” Munoz said.

Shortly after, the 69-year-old clerk shot once and hit the man in the abdomen, he said. The clerk called 911 and reported the shooting, police said, and he’s cooperating with the investigation…

In a post on Facebook, the North Haven Police Department said Obadiah Claud, a 45-year-old West Haven man, has been charged with second-degree threatening, illegal possession of a deadly weapon and second-degree breach of peace.

Police said the arrest stems from an incident at 11:35 a.m., when officers responded to a Quinnipiac Avenue for a report of a threat involving a knife.

The victim was not injured, police said, adding he reported that a man, later identified as Claud, charged at him with a knife in the parking lot.

Police said the victim pulled his legally possessed firearm and was able to deter the attack. They said Claud then fled the area in his vehicle, but was later found in a local business in West Haven that police had tracked that car to…

A man trying to break into a car in the Austin neighborhood on the city’s West Side overnight was caught by the car’s owner, a retired Chicago police officer, and shot in the right shoulder when the retired officer’s gun discharged during an ensuing struggle.

Initial police reports indicated that just before 2:30 a.m. Thursday, a 53-year-old man was attempting to break into a vehicle in the 300 block of North Mayfield Avenue when he was confronted by the vehicle’s owner, who fired a shot…

No other injuries were reported, and no charges have been announced.

A man fighting with a woman in the Washington Park neighborhood Friday shot and killed by another man who intervened, police said.

At noon, the 26-year-old man and the woman, age unknown, were quarreling on the sidewalk in the 300 block of East 56th Street—just west of Dr. Martin Luther King Drive and the park of Washington Park.

The other man, 23, happened to be driving by at the time, and he saw the quarrel and got out of his car to intervene, police said.

The older man pulled a gun, police said. The younger man took out his own gun and shot the older man in the chest, police said.

The older man was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where he died, police said. The younger man remained on the scene and was taken into custody.

The younger man holds a Firearm Owners Identification Card and a Concealed Carry License

Marcus Blicker, 47, was accused of following the shooter’s 16-year-old son and the teen’s friend when the pair drove past his home in Port Orange – a suburb of Daytona Beach — on Oct. 26, according to the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office.

Blicker quickly left his home, started following the kids and was “erratically swerving” at the two vehicles they were driving, police said.

The son called his father to tell him Blicker was following him.

Blicker pursued the teen onto the teen’s driveway and threatened the two drivers before the armed dad confronted him with a rifle around 7:40 p.m., police said.

The father fired warning shots in the air and demanded Blicker leave his property…

Footage shows Blicker’s truck briefly reverse off the property but then sped toward the father and another person who was standing nearby, the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office wrote in a statement…

The father fired several shots at Blicker as the truck drove toward them but it eventually stopped in the front yard.

Blicker was declared dead in the front yard…

There were no criminal charges filed against the father in the days after the shooting…

Police responded to a shooting at a convenience store on Commons Drive Sunday evening, which they said happened during an attempted robbery with a gun.

The situation took place at the Duck N Go store around 5 p.m.

EPD said the suspect involved in the attempted robbery was shot by the store’s owner. The suspect was taken to the local hospital with injuries that do not appear to be life-threatening, according to law enforcement officials.

The store’s owner was not injured and police said there is no ongoing threat to the community…

According to arrest warrants, on Oct. 29, around 3 p.m., Grant allegedly came up to the victims while they were sitting in the front of a 2024 Nissan Sentra on the 3000 block of Peach Orchard Road.

Warrants state Grant then pointed a gun at them and demanded they give him the car.

A brief fight took place in which Grant put one of the victims in a headlock and pointed the gun at his head, according to officials.

The arrest warrants state the brother of the victim then shot Grant.

On the same day, arrest warrants show Grant allegedly approached another victim while she was in her car, a black 2020 Nissan Sentra.

Grant pulled out a gun and demanded the victim give him the car according to officials.

The warrants state the victim pulled out her own weapon, and Grant walked away…

Grant is charged with five counts of criminal attempt felony and one count of possession of a firearm or knife during a crime, according to jail bookings…
