Middle East airlines resume flights after drone strikes. Emirates, Qatar Airways, and Etihad restore routes post airspace reopening.

Several major airlines in the Middle East have announced the resumption of flight operations following initial disruptions caused by Iran’s drone and missile strikes on Israel. The strikes occurred from Saturday night into Sunday, leading to temporary airspace restrictions across various countries in the region.

Emirates Airlines has confirmed the reinstatement of its flight schedules to and from Jordan, Lebanon, and Iraq starting Sunday afternoon. This decision follows the lifting of temporary airspace restrictions in these areas.

Qatar Airways has also restarted its flights to key destinations including Amman, Beirut, and Baghdad. The airline shared this update on X, highlighting a return to regular operations.

Etihad Airways is set to resume regular passenger and cargo flights from Abu Dhabi to Tel Aviv, Amman, and Beirut beginning Monday. The airline noted that the restoration of these services is facilitated by the reopening of airspace in various parts of the Middle East after the recent disruptions.

Additionally, several countries in the region, including Lebanon, Egypt, and Kuwait, have provided updates following the temporary shutdown of their airspace. As of Sunday morning, Jordan, Iraq, and Lebanon reported that their airspace was open again after the overnight assaults. Israeli airlines have also resumed normal operations following the reopening of Israeli airspace at 7:30 a.m. local time.

Travelers are advised to check with their respective airlines for the most current flight information and to anticipate potential delays as services normalize.
