In an effort to address this issue, the local government has initiated a permit revocation process aimed at reducing vendor congestion. While unauthorized street vendors have long been removed from these areas, the excessive number of permits issued by previous administrations continued to contribute to the crowded streets and beaches of Los Cabos. In addition to their uniform, vendors must carry an official ID badge that clearly indicates their legal status. Vendors are also required to adhere to a strict operating schedule, working from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and must pay an annual fee of 1,200 pesos (approximately $65 USD) to the municipality.
