Denver and Aurora, Colorado have had issues with crime by illegal aliens. The mayor of Denver made national headlines when he promised to interfere with deporting illegals, but the Trump administration forced him to back down on that threat and have been actively deporting illegal alien criminals from the area. Denver’s homicide rate fell by 58.4% and there robbery rate by 16% between the first quarter of 2024 and the first quarter of 2025. Aurora’s homicide rate fell by 36.3% and robbery rate by 35.1%. Aggravated assaults also fell, though there has been a slight increase in rapes (6.3% increase for Denver and 3.6% increase for Aurora). These drops are greater than the 20.4% drop in homicides nationwide.

Both the city of Denver and the city of Aurora took part in a national survey about violent crime statistics across the country.

The survey compared the first quarter, which is considered Jan. 1, 2024, to March 31, 2024, to the same time frame in 2025. There were four categories surveyed: Homicide, rape, robbery and aggravated assault.

The survey was conducted by the Major Cities Chiefs Association, and according to the data, Denver and Aurora are seeing a decline in the homicide, robbery and aggravated assault categories.

In both cities, 35 people were killed between January and March of 2024, but in the same time frame of 2025, 17 people were killed.

In 2024, there were more than 1,600 aggravated assaults in Denver and Aurora during the first quarter time frame. In 2025, that figure sits at just over 1,400. . . .
