The Trump Administration has put out a proclamation to honor the 250th anniversary of 250th Anniversary of the Shot Heard Round the World, the Battle of Lexington and Concord, April 19, 1775. The full proclamation is available here. The British attack was meant to confiscate guns, ammunition, and even heavier weapons such as cannons that the colonists had stored there. That attempt to confiscate Americans weapons is one reason that we have the Second Amendment.
