The victim – Glenn Gildon, who posted about his ordeal on Facebook – met with the suspect about 5:30 p.m. Sunday on Brunner Street.
Sacrab-Chen told Gildon the trailer was not actually on site, and they would have to drive to another location.
“The victim felt that something wasn’t right,’’ Gentry said. “Like good law-abiding citizens, he had his firearm with him, which is probably the only thing that save his life.”…
Gentry said that Chen threated the veteran and placed a knife as his throat. The veteran then shot Chen in act of self defense.
Investigators say in the struggle that followed, the veteran’s face was cut up and he was also shot multiple times.
Both men are now in the hospital recovering…

Pinellas County deputies said Matthew Weisner, 39, of Lakeland was drinking with his girlfriend at her Pinellas Park home when they had an argument, and he started contacting her ex-boyfriends “out of jealousy.”
Weisner yelled at Michael McMann, 36, and threatened him with a firearm over the phone, according to the sheriff’s office. He told McMann he was driving to his home.
Michael McMann wasn’t home at the time, but his brother, Austin McMann, 30, was. Weisner sped up to the home in his truck, and Austin McMann walked out with a gun, telling him to leave the property.
Austin McMann told deputies he saw Weisner reach into the console of the truck and “heard a sound he felt was consistent with the racking of a gun slide and saw corresponding movement.” He fired an unknown number of shots at the truck, which he claimed was in self-defense because he “feared for his life.”…

No charges will be filed against a store customer who shot and killed an armed robber earlier this month, police said.
Gaston County Police Department officers were called on Sept. 10 to Will’s Food Store on Hickory Grove Road near Mount Holly. They said Victor Almodovar Jr., 26, held up the store with a handgun and demanded money from an employee.
That was when a customer, who had a concealed carry permit, followed Almodovar out of the store and shot him in the parking lot. Customers said Almodovar pointed his gun at the customer in the parking lot before the shooting…

A Shell gas station employee in Oakland’s Fruitvale District opened fire on an unknown number of people trying to ram a car into the food mart, according to police and video obtained at the scene.
The Shell manager told KTVU that three Lexuses drove up to the business at 38th Avenue and International Boulevard at about 4 a.m. on Wednesday, before one of the drivers rammed a car into the entrance of the convenience store.
It was at this point, police said the employee fired at the cars, prompting them to drive away…
Police say no one was hit by gunfire.
Mubarz said police took the store’s Glock 19 as evidence, questioned the woman and let her go.
“It is legally OK to defend yourself, and she was obviously defending herself,” Mubarz said. “If she hadn’t shot, they would have gone into the store and probably with weapons and probably hurt her.”…

Officers with the Metro Nashville Police Department were called to a crash scene at 4017 Central Pike and found an abandoned car up against an embankment next to a house.
MNPD detectives learned that two men, one in the car and another in a truck, had become entangled in a road rage situation earlier. The man driving the car fired a shot at the truck, which went through the door and grazed the man across his stomach, according to MNPD. The injured man then returned fire and drove down Central Pike after him, resulting in the crash.
MNPD said the driver of the car jumped out and ran after the crash and remains on the run. No charges are expected against the driver of the truck.

A man who fired one shot that killed two people at a popular tailgating site after Sunday’s Detroit Lions game was acting in self-defense and will not be charged, authorities said Wednesday.
“It is absolutely tragic that during all the fun and merrymaking at a Lions tailgate that two lives were lost,” Wayne County prosecutor Kym Worthy said.
The 40-year-old shooter, who had a license to carry a concealed pistol, fired only after he felt threatened by Jalen Welch, 25, who displayed a gun during an argument at Eastern Market, an open-air market, Worthy said.
Welch was shot in the head Sunday. The same bullet then struck and killed a 40-year-old bystander, Rayshawn Palmer, who was trying to be a peacemaker, Worthy said…

According to a San Antonio police preliminary report, a family was leaving the Shops at Rivercenter around 5 p.m. when they encountered two people burglarizing their vehicle.
The suspects pointed guns at the family, and a man and his son opened fire on them, police said.
According to police at the scene, one of the suspects, a 35-year-old man, was shot in the face. The other suspect, a woman, was also hit. Both of the suspects were dropped off at a nearby hospital with apparent non-life-threatening injuries.
Police said between eight to 10 gunshots were fired. They believe only one weapon was used…

A shooting and stabbing at a Port Charlotte Wawa stemmed from a “no parking” decal on a man’s vehicle, according to a report.
According to court documents, deputies say a maintenance worker for CRE Consultants had been at a plaza with an auto parts store and Wawa. Fox 4 is not naming the worker because they are a victim of a crime…
The report says as the worker went to grab his phone from his pocket, Gooden pulled a small, folding knife from his pocket and stabbed the worker in the chest, and jaw. As they were fighting on the ground, the report says the worker kicked Gooden off…
When they both got up, the report says Gooden grabbed the worker’s gun and moved towards him. The worker yelled “we’re done, we’re done,” and got into his truck to leave, the report said.
Documents state the worker saw Gooden heads to Wawa and said he turned around to get his truck between Gooden and the people standing around.
It was then, the report says, Gooden shot through the worker’s windshield. That’s when the worker got a rifle from his backseat, as Gooden started shooting through the back window before shooting in the front again, the report said.
According to deputies, the worker shot back eight times before Gooden ran off. They started shooting at each other again, and the report says the worker shot Gooden twice.
The report says Gooden took off towards the woods and the worker tried to look for him because he believed Gooden “intended to kill him and was concerned that Anthony [Gooden] wanted to harm the innocent bystanders,” according to the report.
A witness told deputies they heard two volleys of gunfire between the two men and had to duck into a van to avoid being hit.
When the gunfire stopped, the witness told deputies they went to help the worker…
The Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office charged Gooden with two counts of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, firing a weapon into a vehicle, larceny and discharging a firearm in public…

According to the Henderson Police Department, officers responded to reports of a shooting in the 1000 block of Wellness Place at 3:57 a.m.
An initial investigation determined that a 33-year-old man was approached by an unknown male with a firearm in his hand, who demanded his cell phone and wallet. The 33-year-old then fired his own gun multiple times at the unknown male and struck him.
Police add that the 33-year-old fired out of “fear for his life.”
Arriving first responders would later confirm that the man died at the scene. There were no other injuries reported, police said.
The 33-year-old man remained at the scene and cooperated with the detectives…

BPD investigators presented the information they gathered to the Jefferson County District Attorney’s office for review. Following the assessment, the Jefferson County District Attorney’s Office ruled the shooting justifiable.

In the hours after Hurricane Helene passed through, the Tallahassee Police Department responded to a shooting at the hemp store located at 220 West Tennessee Street just before 6 p.m.
Co-owner Alex Petrick said two men entered the store and approached the only employee working at the time, forcing the employee to pull out his firearm.
The employee ordered the men to leave…
Petrick said the suspect continued to advance toward him until the employee’s back was against the wall and he fired.
Petrick said no other customers or employees were present, and the other man who entered with the suspect fled as soon as he saw the gun.

Police say the 16-year-old suspect and another person approached a man on the street, flashed a fake gun and attempted to rob him.
