Embraer and Horizon Air have entered into an agreement for the Embraer Collaborative Inventory Planning (ECIP), a bespoke program aimed at managing expendable spare parts inventory to help clients minimize operational expenses by optimizing stock levels. This partnership ensures support for Horizon Air’s 41 E175 jets based at their Portland, OR hub, and includes provisions for an additional nine E175s soon to be delivered, bringing the total to 50 aircraft. These planes are operated by Horizon Air under the Alaska Airlines brand.
Carlos Naufel, President and CEO of Embraer Services & Support, expressed enthusiasm about Horizon Air joining the ECIP program, noting, “ECIP is crafted to bolster efficiency and slash inventory costs for our clients, which is crucial for rapidly expanding, large-fleet airlines like Horizon Air.”
The ECIP program offers numerous benefits to its clients. Embraer assumes the majority of the inventory investment, significantly reducing the financial burden typically shouldered by airlines. It also offers fixed annual pricing for parts, enabling clients to forecast expenses more accurately, backed by guaranteed performance from Embraer Services & Support. The program is informed by data, offering weekly procurement suggestions based on usage and inventory data through state-of-the-art software and Embraer’s planning expertise in a collaborative manner. Additionally, all participating airlines benefit from Embraer’s expertise in materials management and access to a globally efficient logistics network.
